Services

Books first and foremost, but also journals, institutional documents and the living word of meetings: four ways of carrying a text from one language into another, with the same high standards.

Publishing translation

For publishers: essays, spirituality, theology, biography, children’s books.

This is the heart of my work. I translate books from French and English into Spanish, and from Spanish or English into French, for publishers such as Grupo de Comunicación Loyola, Fonte-Monte Carmelo, Éditions Jésuites and Éditions du Rocher.

Ignatian and Carmelite spirituality, essays in theology and exegesis, biographies, humanities, children’s books: each genre has its own language. Translating a religious text also means knowing the conventions of each country: reference Bible translations, liturgical vocabulary, the names of saints and places.

For example: Santa Teresa de Lisieux. La biografía, Sal fuera, Cinq paysages sur le chemin de Pâques.

Journals and institutional documents

Articles, yearbooks and exhibition booklets for religious congregations, associations and institutions.

Since 2020 I have translated articles for the journal Promotio Iustitiae, published by the Secretariat for Social Justice and Ecology of the General Curia of the Society of Jesus in Rome. Since 2019 I have also translated the French and Spanish editions of the Jesuit Yearbook, with Grupo de Comunicación Loyola.

I also translated into Spanish the booklet for the exhibition “Ensemble, construisons la Terre” by the Association Teilhard International. These texts call for terminological rigour, consistency and respect for publication deadlines.

Editing and proofreading

Review of an existing translation, harmonisation, checking accuracy and style.

Do you already have a translation into Spanish or French and would like an expert eye before publication? I compare it with the original, check the accuracy of meaning and terminology, and suggest the corrections needed so that it reads as if it had been written in its own language.

Consecutive interpreting

Meetings, conferences and gatherings between French and Spanish speakers.

Trained as an interpreter, I support meetings between French and Spanish speakers. In 2011 I provided consecutive interpreting for the Third Meeting of French and Spanish Bishops of the Way of St James in Le Puy-en-Velay, and then translated the proceedings.

For meetings in the Auvergne and around Le Puy-en-Velay I can travel easily; for other places, let’s talk.

How a request works

  1. You describe your project

Through the contact form: languages, type of text, length, schedule. You can attach a sample or the manuscript.

  2. I read the text

I read the book or a representative sample to assess its difficulty and the time needed.

  3. I send you a proposal

Schedule, terms and a detailed quote, in line with professional practice.

  4. We work together

Translation, discussion of delicate passages, delivery of the text and proofreading.

A professional framework

In publishing, a translation is covered by a translation and rights-transfer contract, in line with professional practice (in France, the Code des usages for the translation of general literature). As a member of the ATLF and ACE Traductores, I stand for a transparent practice that respects the translator’s work.

Every project is different: fees are set by quote.
