At the end of 2009 I set out on the wonderful adventure of literary translation. And what a richness in every encounter since then! From James Martin to Dolores Aleixandre, from Teilhard de Chardin to Thérèse of Lisieux… A whole range of authors, eras and sensibilities, of ways of looking at life, faith and humanity… Traduttore, traditore? No, no, absolutely no. With deep humility before the mystery of every text, I dare say that the translator is a conveyor of life, a weaver of bonds between cultures. A life and bonds that are anything but artificial. Is there a risk? Yes, yes, absolutely yes. But living is taking risks: so let us translate!
